Please stay very still so as not to disturb this bald eagle perched in a winter woods off Cedar Springs Road just 2.5 kms (as the eagle flies) from one of two sites chosen by Nelson Aggregate for a new open-pit mine on Burlington's Escarpment

Bald eagles are a species of "special concern" in southern Ontario, decidedly rare in this neck of the woods.

Let's continue to protect the bio-diverse habitats of  Burlington's precious Escarpment lands so that these awe-inspiring birds continue to grace us with their presence.
